Recently, I was invited to be on the panel at the opening session of IFMA’s Facility Fusion conference in Boston.
The focus of the panel was the ‘Evolution of Facility Management’, a topic I am very passionate about.
My recent business trips to the Middle East and Aftrica re-emphasized to me the need to develop Facility Management beyond its original roots of a very technical and tactical function into a profession that while still grounded in technical requirements, leverages strategic business skills to make a difference for the companies we serve.
It was a privilege being on the panel with the other panelists, all senior FM leaders. You can watch a video of the panel further below.
The host and moderator was Mark Liciardello, Vice President of Corporate Services for ARAMARK and Second Vice Chair of the IFMA board of Directors.
Fellow panelists were Sheila Sheridan, Past Chair of the IFMA board of directors and past president of the Boston IFMA chapter, Joachim Hohmann, Managing partner of Consultants Circle , Professor at the Technical University Kaiserslautern, Germany, and IFMA board member and Jon Seller, General Manager of Hong Kong’s Optegy Group and IFMA board member.
We were able to engage in discussion around a series of questions that Mark posed to the panel and at the end, we opened it up to the floor for additional questions.
If you missed the event, the following 20 minute video of the panel discussion will bring you to the event. If you were there, this will be a chance to see the panel again. I hope you’ll be able to attend in 2012.
