My recent magazine article on getting the right service level from your outsourced (or subcontracted) service provider has been published and already I’ve received positive feedback. This article came from a startling statistic from a recent IFMA research report that said getting the right service was an issue with 78% of the facility executives surveyed.
In my experience, it all starts with the procurement process and this is an area that does not get enough attention either with outsourcing or subcontracting RFP’s, yet sets the stage for service and easy contract management down the road.
As a service provider in the past, It has been difficult to respond to RFP’s that have vague requirements and poorly developed performance expectations. That experience has meant that when I am involved in putting together RFP packages for clients, I understand the importance and make sure it is clear and will provide effective management of the contract and will get the results the client needs. If you are procuring FM services, whether subcontracted out-tasked services or a full outsourcing initiative, contact me to see how I can make your initiative more successful.
